Different ways of learning


  • To examine different ways of learning a language
  • To use Kimstudies as a source of material
  • To do a vocabulary exercise from the "Content of communication" section
  • To do a Reading or listening exercise
  • To look at some words from "Lord of the Flies" chapter 1
  • To plan for the "other lessons" until mid-term break (one chapter from Happy)

Welcome to this lesson.
Today we are going to look at different ways of learning a language. How do you learn best? Talk to your nearest neighbours about this for a couple of minutes.
Nowadays there are so many materials available on the internet. One example is: 

Here, you can practise Speaking, reading, writing and listening as well as learning vocabulary and doing discussions.

1.Vocabulary
Go in on "Content of communication". Choose a section and a method of learning the relevant words
-flashcards
-recording
-testing each other
-words in a sentence

2. Reading/Listening
Choose 1 resource EITHER from Reading (something short)  OR Listening

On Friday we will have our first seminar on "Lord of the Flies". Make sure you have read chapter 2.
Today I will take 19 words from chapter 1 as an example. The page references are not correct but give you some idea.

FINALLY

In 3s give some ideas as to what we can do with the lessons when we don't use "Lord of the Flies" until mid-term (week 9). Please mail me your suggestions
