Forrest Gump- presentation and writing

Today we start off by presenting the incident/concept which you were given last time connected to the film "Forrest Gump".

You need to explain three things:

1. What the incident/concept is about

2. When did it take place?

3. In what way is it connected to the film?

Here is a list of the concepts/incidents
The Supreme Court and Brown v. Board of Education
and
The Black Panther Movement are not included

  • Elvis and Rock n’Roll;
  •  Segregation and desegregation;
  • the Civil Rights movement;
  •  the Supreme Court and Brown v. Board of Education;
  •  KKK;
  • the Cold War;
  •  the moon landing;
  • the Black Panther Movement;
  •  the assassination of John F. Kennedy;
  •  the Vietnam War;
  •  the Hippie Movement;
  • the Watergate Scandal;
  • the outbreak of HIV/AIDS.
After the presentations you will begin to write your essay/story based on the film on your computer. This is to practise for the National test.....Here are 2 suggestions for a suitable title

Finally using the film as inspiration write your own story.Call it either “Against All Odds” or ”Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get”.

If you have your own title that is fine.
The most important thing is that you use the film as a source of inspiration for what you write.

You need to write at least 130 words
Good luck! (You will finish it off next Wednesday)

Remember this coming Friday. Viktor will lead the seminar about chapter 5 of "Lord of the Flies".

Your homework is to read it!
